Week 3: Understanding

"The Lord will give you understanding in all things." 2 Timothy 2:7

Sunday: On the Sunday of the Prodigal Son, read the parable in Luke 15:11.  Think about the fact that whenever we decide to repent and return to God, He will receive us with love and forgiveness.  However, it is up to us to willingly return to our Father.  We always forget the older brother in the story of the Prodigal Son.  Did he truly understand his father's love for him and his brother?  Do we understand our Father's love for us?

Monday: Understanding is important, but sometimes trust comes first.  Read Matthew 17:14-23.

Tuesday: Differences can enrich our relationships.  Read Romans 14:1-13.  Sometimes differences are actually strengths.  Read Luke 6:12-26.

Wednesday: Share and exchange your ideas and beliefs about God, life, and other similar topics with a friend.

Thursday: Learn about another culture or religion.  Think about and discuss with your family, friends, or fellow parishioners what this group of people has in common with you.

Friday: Share an aspect of your Armenian culture with others and learn more about their culture.  You can share your food, music, history, religion, or anything that makes you uniquely Armenian.

Saturday: Is there a saint you don't know much about?  Ask your pastor or Sunday School teacher to help you understand the life of that saint and what lessons it teaches.
