Archbishop Takes Patt in Ecumenical Welcoming Service

Archbishop Khajag Barsamian and Bishop Vicken Aykazian, diocesan legate and ecumenical officer of the Diocese, were part of an ecumenical group welcoming His Beatitude Mor Baselius Thomas I, the Catholicos of India of the Syrian Orthodox Church of Antioch.

The group of clergy from Oriental Orthodox and other churches gathered at the headquarters of the Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church for the Eastern United States, in Teaneck, NJ, on Friday, October 25 for the welcoming service.

The welcoming ceremony started with a brief prayer service in the Syrian Cathedral of St. Mark and was followed by a fasting luncheon, where the Primate was asked to deliver remarks of welcome.
