Ordinations Take Place

St. Stepanos Church Ordinations

The Primate welcomes newly ordained deacons Raffi and Ara Karakashian and their family, friends and supporters, including Fr. Mamigon Kiledjian, pastor at St. Stepanos Church of Elberon, NJ, and Fr. Vertanes Kalayjian.

Tenafly Ordination

During a special ceremony on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2003 Archbishop Khajag Barsamian ordained Vicken Demirjian as a deacon at the St. Thomas Church of Tenafly, NJ. The special day, ACYOA day in the parish, also marked the 38th anniversary of the consecration of the church.

Holy Trinity Ordination

Archbishop Khajag Barsamian bestowed the order of sub-deacon upon Haik Diloyan and Christopher Tashjian during the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, April 27 at Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Greater Boston. The Primate also bestowed the order of acolyte upon the young altar servers from grades 3 through 7 of the Holy Trinity Sunday School who have been faithfully and seriously participating in the Divine Liturgy over the past 15 months.

These young servers were: Hagop Abkarian, Joseph Ayanian, Lori Ayanian, Alexander Bacon, Dianna Bedrosian, Alexandra Brennan, Oscar Derderian III, Ara Diloyan, Stephen Hollisian, Hope Kalajian, Ani Keverian, Hagop Keverian, Hayk Krikorian, Harry Lang, Danielle Malconian, Alyssa Sahagian, Gregory Torosian, Mark Torosian, and Ara Tutundjian.

In honor of the Primate and the newly ordained subdeacons and acolytes, a reception held in Holy Trinity's Charles and Nevart Talanian Cultural Hall.

Faithful Assume Leadership as Deacons, Sub-Deacons, Acolytes

Archbishop Khajag Barsamian ordained 21 new deacons, subdeacons, and acolytes during a visit to St. Leon Church of Fair Lawn, NJ, on Saturday and Sunday, May 17-18, 2003.

The Primate ordained four deacons, eight sub-deacons, and nine acolytes. He also presented diplomas to 12 Sunday School graduates.

Ordained as deacons were Armen Jesralyan, Sebuh Oscherician, Hacik Sariminasian, and Levon Giragosian. Ordained as subdeacons were Justin Ajamian, Chris Burdman, Joseph Hovsepian, Gregg Kazanjian, Vahe Kiljian, Ara McMahon, Sarkis Pilvadjian, and Adam Tashjian.

Ordained as acolytes were Minas Arakelian, Connor and Devin Boodaghian, Alex Derian, William Kress, Mihran Naltchaian, Christopher and Matthew Tarzian, and Roy Zarokyan.
