National Council of Churches Passes Resolution on Genocide
During its quarterly Governing Board meeting on February 14 and 15, the National Council of Churches passed a resolution calling on the governments of the United States and of Turkey to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide, which started 90 years ago April 24 and took 1.5 million lives.
The resolution was drafted by Christopher H. Zakian, the Diocese’s public relations coordinator, and introduced by Bishop Vicken Aykazian, legate and ecumenical officer of the Diocese, who serves as secretary to the NCC governing body.
