Editor's Letter
Dear Readers,
Welcome to a new format for The Armenian Church publication – the flagship publication of the Diocese of the Armenian Church (Eastern).
With this new newsletter format, we hope to focus on bringing you timely information in a concise and cost-efficient presentation. Our spring 2005 issue offers you a combination of news, information and announcements. I hope you find some of the fact offerings and articles enriching.
You will recognize many of the same features our readers enjoyed in our magazine – Primate’s Meditation, News & Notes, Milestones, Armenian text, St. Vartan Bookstore catalog page. Sprinkled in our news features are columns you will see from time to time that deliver details and fine points about our religion and culture.
As we look back at our past with coverage of a memorial commemoration of His Holiness Vasken I and experts’ views on the Armenian Genocide in this issue, we also bring you news of a recent history making trip that brought our Diocesan Council to The See of Holy Etchmiadzin by special invitation of His Holiness Karekin I, Catholicos of All Armenians. The very productive trip was the result of a first-of its kind invitation by the Catholicos to a Diocesan Council.
Continuing our highlight of youth activities, we bring you news of summer camps and conference throughout the Diocese and enhanced communication for college students to stay connected to their Armenian roots and faith.
Look for a change in our Internet address on June 1, when you will find the Diocese of the Armenian Church (Eastern) on the web at www.armenianchurch.net. We’re moving to clear the way for a new website launched by The Holy See of Etchmiadzin at www.armenianchurch.org.
Yours truly,
Arpie Nakashian McQueen
