2004 Annual Report of the Department of Center Facilities

Rental of the Diocesan Center Facilities has increased significantly since its rebirth in 1996 under the name of “630 Second.”  The previous year (1995) showed sales at $228,000.  In 2004, sales reached $400,000.

The various spaces offered at the Diocesan Center in 2004 were rented out 156 times, and in-house usage of rooms for Diocesan departments and functions occurred 343 times.

Rental prices in 2004 were increased by 5% for repeat clients, and up to 10% for new clients.

The dedicated website of the rental facilities—www.630second.com—has reduced our need for additional advertising, other than in the Yellow Pages telephone directory and periodic ads in a new-event publication, Biz-Bash.  These venues along with our web site have been a major source of inquiries.

We continue to network with caterers and event planners who provide another significant source of new business, especially in a venue with an open catering arrangement such as ours.
