GUIDELINES FOR CHRISTIAN LIVING AT HYE CAMP

The goal of Hye Camp is to bring together children of Armenian heritage, in a Christian family atmosphere, where they can experience friendship and fellowship, participate in athletic activities and learn the history, culture and faith of the Armenian Church.

1. We are Christian and expect Christian standards of behavior at all times.

2. Appropriate dress and language are expected at all times.

3. Campers and staff are to be punctual and participate with enthusiasm in all scheduled activities.

4. Camp property is our “home” for a week.  Staff and campers are to keep all areas clean and free of litter.

5. Good manners and proper conduct must be observed at all times, especially mealtimes.

6. Whatever curfew times are set, they are to be obeyed.

7. All campers and staff must remain on the camp premises unless permission to leave is given by the Director.

8. Phone calls may be made only in an emergency.  (Campers may not bring cell phones to camp.)

9. No smoking.

10. Camp is to be kept free of alcohol, illegal drugs, firearms, knives and other harmful items.

11. At no time are boys allowed in girls’ living quarters and vice versa.  Socials will be held in assigned areas with supervision.

Any serious violation of these guidelines will be evaluated on an individual basis.  If, however, after such evaluation by the Director, behavior or conduct is found to be inappropriate or inconsistent with the guidelines laid out above, the camper will be dealt with quickly and firmly.  There is no intent to be harsh or unreasonable, however, any serious misconduct will result in the affected camper(s) being required to leave camp within 24 hours.  The family of the camper(s) will be responsible for the removal of the camper(s) from Hye Camp within that period.
