Diocesan Program Departments

A number of program departments of the Diocese can be approached to conduct educational, cultural, and informational programs about the Armenian Church, her faith, doctrine, customs, traditions, and history.  The program departments can be reached by calling the Diocesan Center in New York City at (212) 686-0710.  Some of the services offered include:

The Department of Youth and Education (DYE) which develops Diocesan-wide programs for youth and young adults aimed at nurturing an individual's spirituality and instilling in young people the knowledge, understanding, and love for Christ and His Church.  The department facilitates, promotes, and implements educational opportunities and occasions for spiritual growth.  Religious retreats and pilgrimages, conferences, summer camps, and resource materials provide our youth with opportunities for participation in the life of the Church.

The Armenian Church Youth Organization of America (ACYOA) was created in 1946 to educate the youth of the church on what it takes to be a committed Christian and a responsible leader and member of their church communities.  The organization is governed by the Central Council, which is elected during an Annual Assembly in May.

The Zohrab Information Center (ZIC) is a reference and resource center that houses a library of books, microfilm, audio-visual materials, and other media relating to Armenian topics.  Its main goal is to disseminate and provide information to academics, students, and others interested in learning about Armenian topics.

The Association of Armenian Church Choirs of America (AACCA) works to promote the proper singing of the Armenian Divine Liturgy and sacred hymns by providing education for and uniformity among our Diocesan choirs, deacons, and altar servers.  Through workshops and retreats, skills and ideas are shared with local parish members.  The association is governed by a Central Council that is elected at the group's Annual Assembly.

The Women's Guild (WG) has both spiritual and educational objectives.  In each parish, local guilds work to preserve the Christian faith.  The group provides women with a ministry and role in the Armenian Church through programs for moral, spiritual, and educational development of its members.  The guilds are guided by the Women's Guild Central Council, elected at the group's annual assembly.
