A "Thankful" Classroom Decor (All Ages)
Invite everyone who comes by your classroom to contribute to this classroom decoration. Start early in November and add to this project each week.
Hang raffia, paper ribbon, or heavy twine around your classroom doorframe to look like a winding vine. Prepare a stack of paper leaf cutouts. Have little kids each draw a picture of something they're thankful for on a leaf then dictate a description to you as you write their words (in English or Armenian) on the leaf. Older students can write a word in bold and follow up with a sentence or phrase. Encourage classroom visitors and parents to do the same.
Staple each leaf to the vine to create a church-wide celebration of thankfulness. Each week, gather children around the doorway to choose a leaf and pray a prayer of thanks for the blessing represented on the leaf and the person who created it.
This can be adapted for a hallway bulletin board as well.
