A Bible Study on Stewardship

At your next staff meeting or high school session, use the following to explore this concept.

A. Icebreaker What was the best gift you ever received? The best you ever gave?

B. Reading 1 Corinthians 12

C. Paraphrase Have the group retell what was read in their own words.

D. Discussion Questions

1. What are some of the mute idols that influence and lead us astray? (verse 2)

2. Who makes it possible for us to acknowledge Jesus as our Lord (3)

3. How does our baptism open us to this possibility? (we are immersed three times, sharing in Christ’s crucifixion after which we are sealed with the Holy Spirit in Chrismation)

4. What is the connection between our talents and the common good? (7)

5. In verses 8-11 and 28-30 gifts that help build up God’s kingdom are listed. What are they? What are some other gifts that can help cultivate faith in others?

6. How does Paul describe the unity of believers? (12-13)? What does this add to our understanding of being a member of the Armenian Church? Of ourselves?

7. What important points does the image of “one body, many parts” convey? Discuss.

8. List gifts you have that would work for the common good of a Christian community. Share.
