A Valentine’s Thank You Mobile for Volunteers
Say a “hearty” thank you to your volunteers this Valentine’s Day with this creative mobile. Melt purple, red, and pink crayon shavings between two sheets of wax paper with a low-heat iron. Then cut out 5-inch hearts from the cooled shavings. You’ll need about 30 hearts. Punch a hole in the top of each heart. On separate, rectangular pieces of foam board, write the words “Thank you for sharing your heart with the children of (church name).”
Use two 3-foot wooden dowels to form an X. Secure the dowels with clear packing tape. Then use fishing line to hang the foam boards and hearts along the crossed dowels. Hang the finished mobile above a counter or table that has a box of Valentine candy on it.
Gifts for Lent
Help your students celebrate Lent in a special way this season. Give them a gift on a few of the six Sundays in Lent and Easter Sunday. When you give gifts and explain why you are giving them, your students will not only have the joy of receiving a gift, but they will also receive a rich reminder each week of the death and resurrection of Christ.
