Diocesan Scholarships

Each year the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern) gives out scholarships to at least 10 undergraduates who are active in their local church and have assumed leadership roles in their community

Other Selected Sources for Scholarships

AGBU Scholarships & Loans

The AGBU offers interest-free loans to full-time graduate students of Armenian descent enrolled in most competitive colleges and universities in the United States. Deadline for returning a completed application is April 1.

Many selected areas of graduate study will be considered, such as: communications, educational administration, public administration, international relations, theology, and first professional degrees in areas such as law or medicine. In addition, a student in her/his last two years of pursuing a doctorate degree in Armenian Studies is also eligible.

The New York Community Trust Scholarships

New York Community Trust scholarships are available to students whose families reside in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut. Students must display academic excellence, family residence in the above states, financial need, and involvement with the Armenian community and its culture. Scholarships available to full-time undergraduates only. Deadline is April 18, 2007.

Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation - Armenian Communities Higher Education Scholarships

The Armenian Communities Department grants a limited number of scholarships to students of Armenian origin studying in the Diaspora, who are from families of limited means. Applicants must be Armenian students who are sophomore or above and enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university.

ASA Scholarships

Scholarships for college and graduate students are being offered. In order to qualify, students must be enrolled full-time in four year accredited colleges or universities in the USA. The student must be a sophomore or beyond in the academic year applied for and be of Armenian descent to be eligible for scholarships. Deadline to request an application is February 15, 2007; deadline for completed applications is March 15, 2007.

The W.E.D. Education Fund

The W.E.D Education Fund gives out about $60,000 in scholarships to approximately 25 deserving Armenian-American students. Criteria for selection include strong academic performance, American citizenship, financial need, and Armenian community involvement.
